5 Tracks – Red Greg

21 April

Red-Greg-Pic

Ahead of our party with Red Greg, he has kindly contributed to our 5 – Tracks feature with 5 records taken straight from his bag. This will no doubt give you a taste of what to expect on Friday evening down at Troyganic. Final release tickets can be bought here.

Margino – Can’t Believe

Taken from the super cheesy looking ‘Last Night a DJ Saved My Life album from South Africa. I would have chosen her version of Klein & M.B.O – ‘Wonderful’ but it doesn’t seem to be online, so I opted for this slightly funkier cover of the Nancy Martin classic.

Jean Claude Petit – Age of Breaking Down

I really like all his albums from 1970-1980, he’s touched on many genres during his music career. This is a more electronic sounding track, that sounds great towards the end of a party.

Time & Space feat Roy Ayers – Need Your Love Once More

A record I used to play to death as a new release, some 20+ years later it sounds better than ever.

Gloria Weems – Don’t Let Me Drop

Another SA record that’s made it’s way back into my record box and this would have been a big Ebonite track if we were still throwing parties today.

Serenity – Serenity

The perfect laid back gospel record, that has minimal lyrics and features some great musicians.
